U-turns are not permitted on curves due to safety concerns. When driving on a curve, visibility is significantly reduced, making it difficult to see oncoming traffic or potential hazards. Additionally, executing a U-turn on a curve can obstruct the travel lane, further heightening the danger for both the driver making the turn and other motorists.

In contrast, U-turns may be less problematic on straight roads since visibility is better, and there is usually more space for maneuvering. On city streets, U-turns are often managed by traffic regulations and may be allowed in certain areas. The presence or absence of other vehicles does not inherently dictate the legality of a U-turn; it is more about the specific driving environment and the potential risks associated with the maneuver.
